the icp results looks quite good. Reduce the salinity to 35psu and for KH it is enough to have 7.2. Do you dose Iodine separately? Please rise it up to 0.06 mg/l.
Nothing to worry about Aluminium. Values up to 50 µg/l are ok. Aluminium can be come from fish food.
Is there something corroding in or around your tank? this can be the cause for higher Zn.

I dose iodine (TM iodine lugol type - one drop per day). Related to corrosion I cannot find anything. I had a metal clamp (salt water safe) but I removed it after first ICP and use now use plastic. Also cleaned all the powerheads and visually I could not find signs of corrosion. I even removed the metal door opening mechanism for the sump cabinet as it was rusting and could produce small particles. I will send an ICP every month and also will do a 20l water change every week as a fail safe as I have a young aquarium and maybe things are leaching from the epoxy/cement/rocks.

One thing that bothers me a bit is that not all the corals are thriving. I have an acropora that looks dead , no polyps at all for months and it is brown. Also I noticed I don't have the best colors on the SPS and I feel some are a bit on the brown side. From what I have read browning is either from the lighting or way too much nutrients but my nutrients should be spot on. Maybe the Zn is doing weird stuff or I just needing to be more patient. After all I have growth and no coral has died in the last few months(only lost an acropora at the start via RTN).

I think the salinity reading from the ICP is incorrect . Both my refractometer and the salinity probe(both calibrated ) show 34.5 - 35.


Ich dosiere Jod (TM Jod Lugol Typ - ein Tropfen pro Tag). Im Zusammenhang mit Korrosion kann ich nichts finden. Ich hatte eine Metallklemme (salzwassersicher), aber ich entfernte sie nach dem ersten ICP und benutze jetzt Plastik. Auch alle Powerheads gereinigt und optisch konnte ich keine Anzeichen von Korrosion finden. Ich habe sogar den Mechanismus zum Öffnen der Metalltür für den Sumpfschrank entfernt, da dieser rostete und kleine Partikel produzieren konnte. Ich werde jeden Monat einen ICP senden und jede Woche einen 20-l-Wasserwechsel durchführen, um die Sicherheit zu gewährleisten, da ich ein junges Aquarium habe und möglicherweise Dinge aus dem Epoxidharz / Zement / Gestein auslaugen.

Eine Sache, die mich ein bisschen stört, ist, dass nicht alle Korallen gedeihen. Ich habe eine Akropora, die tot aussieht, seit Monaten überhaupt keine Polypen mehr und braun ist. Außerdem habe ich festgestellt, dass ich nicht die besten Farben auf der SPS habe und ich denke, dass einige etwas braun sind. Nach dem, was ich gelesen habe, kommt die Bräunung entweder von der Beleuchtung oder von viel zu viel Nährstoffen, aber meine Nährstoffe sollten genau richtig sein. Vielleicht macht der Zn seltsame Sachen oder ich muss nur geduldiger sein. Immerhin habe ich Wachstum und in den letzten Monaten ist keine Koralle gestorben (hat zu Beginn nur eine Akropora über RTN verloren).

Ich denke, der Salzgehalt vom ICP ist falsch. Sowohl mein Refraktometer als auch die Salzgehaltsonde (beide kalibriert) zeigen 34,5 - 35.
